Ghost Box Recordings
These were recorded using a continuously scanning radio signal. Catching these requires a bit of getting used to. If you
listen closely, you will hear voices over the top of the scans. They will be the same voices and often use words or phrases
used in the original questions. This makes the responses less coincidental. This is something we continue to experiment
with for real time communication.
EVP Recordings
These were recorded using traditional shoebox and digital recorders.
Shoebox recorders use a magnetic tape to record sound. This can be quite time consuming as it often requires transferring
the taped recordings to the computer. For example, if you have a 1 hour taped recording, it takes an hour to transfer the
tape to the computer. The recording then needs to be saved or converted into a .wav or mp3 format using a sound editing
program. We like Cool Edit Pro (now called Adobe Audtion), although Audacity is also a great free program that operates
very much the same as Cool Edit. A 1 hour recording can easily take 2-3 hours or more to go over.
A digital recorder makes for an easy transfer of data and does not need to be converted before it can be gone through. We
find though that we have fewer EVP's using digital, however the quality of the EVP's are more clear and frequently of the
A-Class. We often use the H2Zoom to record on digital
